STRATEGI KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM MENGOPTIMALKAN PARTISIPASI ORANGTUA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS SEKOLAH

Abstract


Abstract: this study aims to describe the principal's strategy in optimizing the participation of parents to improve school quality. This research uses qualitative research type with phenomenology approach. The study design was a multi case study. The object of research is in two elementary schools (SD) in Malang, SD Negeri Kauman 1 Malang and SD Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. The subjects of this study are the principal as key informants, Class Teachers, School Committee Leaders, Class Paguyuban Officers, and Student Parents. Facts and information were obtained through in-depth interview techniques, observations, and documentation studies. Research instruments are researchers assisted by interview guides, observation guidelines, and documentation guidelines. Data analysis techniques using interactive model is through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and data verification, and comparative constant technique. Validity of data used through credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results of the study show that the principal's strategy in optimizing parental participation includes: making attractive and useful programs for parents, involving parents in school programming and implementation, applying transparent and accountable principles , the intensity of communication with parents through various communication media, and create a conducive climate. The optimization of parent participation is expected to synergistically lead to a goal of improving school quality.

 

Abstrak: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi kepala sekolah dalam mengoptimalkan partisipasi orangtua untuk meningkatkan kualitas sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenology. Rancangan penelitian berupa studi multi kasus. Objek penelitian berada di dua sekolah dasar (SD) di Kota Malang yaitu SD Negeri Kauman 1 Malang dan SD Laboratorium Universitas Negeri Malang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah Kepala Sekolah sebagai informan kunci, Guru Kelas, Ketua Komite Sekolah, Pengurus Paguyuban Kelas, serta Orangtua Siswa. Fakta dan informasi diperoleh melalui teknik wawancara mendalam, pengamatan, dan studi dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian adalah peneliti yang dibantu dengan pedoman wawancara, pedoman pengamatan, dan pedoman dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan interactive model yaitu melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan, dan verifikasi data, dan teknik comparative constant. Keabsahan data yang digunakan melalui credibility, transferability, dependability, dan confirmability Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, strategi kepala sekolah dalam mengoptimalkan partisipasi orangtua meliputi: pembuatan program yang menarik dan bermanfaat bagi orangtua, pelibatan orangtua dalam penyusunan dan pelaksanaan program sekolah, menerapkan prinsip transparan dan akutabilitas, intensitas jalinan komunikasi dengan orangtua melalui berbagai media komunikasi, dan menciptakan iklim yang kondusif. Optimalisasi partisipasi orangtua diharapkan secara sinergis mengarah pada satu tujuan yaitu peningkatan kualitas sekolah.
