Keplithet : Sebuah Komposisi Musik Akustik Gamelan Dalam Pertunjukan Virtual

Abstract


Penelitian ini membedah karya berjudul “Keplithet”, sebuah karya komposisi gamelan ciptaan Setyawan Jayantoro.  Melihat keadaan yang belum memperbolehkan penyelenggarakan konser musik secara langsung, memaksa konser musik dilakukan secara virtual, dengan segala keterbatasaanya.  Untuk itu Setyawan Jayantoro sebagai pengkarya mencoba untuk menghadirkan pengalaman estetika ruang akustik pada video publikasinya, seperti halnya menonton secara langsung.  Penelitian ini bermaksud mengungkap model penuangan ide komposisi musik akustik Gamelan pada pertunjukan Virtual di masa Pandemi Covid-19, kemudian bagaimana Setyawan Jayantoro menghadirkan bunyi dan suasana ruang bunyi yang autentik dalam dokumentasi karyanya. Dalam pengumpulan data, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan sebagai partisipan observer.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Setyawan Jayantoro dalam karyanya ingin mengungkap bahwa dalam permainan gamelan Jawa terdapat teba garap bunyi yang luas, ketika keluar dari kebiasaan kebiasaan konvensional yang mengikat, seperti halnnya pithetan yang membatasi bunyi dalam permainan gamelan tradisi.  Dalam menghadirkan ruang akustik, Setyawan Jayantoro sangat memperhatikan integrasi dalam tata ruang, tata suara, dan tata reproduksi suara yang dinyatakan pada dokumentasi karya yang dipublikasikan.  Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam membuka peluang baru bidang komposisi gamelan yang ditampilkan secara virtual, sehingga pola integrasi estetika ruang akustik sajian pertunjukan gamelan virtual dapat diketahui dan digunakan oleh peneliti lain dalam melakukan kajian sejenis terutama bidang kajian estetika ruang bunyi gamelan dalam format rekaman digital.
