Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of school principal leadership style and teacher teaching quality on student learning outcomes in public high schools in Luwu Utara Regency. This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative causal design, aimed at examining the relationship between two independent variables, namely the school principal's leadership style and the quality of teaching, with one dependent variable, student learning outcomes. Data were collected using questionnaires distributed to 142 teachers and 187 students from four public high schools in Luwu Utara Regency. The results of the study show that the school principal's leadership style has a positive influence on student learning outcomes, with a regression coefficient of 0.575, indicating that improvements in leadership style will enhance student learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the quality of teaching also has a positive impact on student learning outcomes, although the influence is smaller, with a coefficient of 0.131. Based on simultaneous testing, these two variables together have a significant effect on student learning outcomes, with an F-value of 166.790 and a p-value of 0.005. This study provides practical implications that school principals should apply a democratic and participative leadership style, and teachers need to improve the quality of teaching to promote better student learning outcomes. The findings are expected to provide recommendations for the development of leadership and teaching practices in schools.
