Sintesis dan Karakterisasi Nanopartikel Magnetit (Fe3O4) Menggunakan Metode Kopresipitasi
Abstract
Nanopartikel magnetit merupakan salah satu mineral besi oksida dengan sifat magnet paling kuat di alam dengan struktur kristal berbentuk kubus. Nanopartikel ini termasuk ke dalam material magnetik yang memiliki satu domain magnetik (single domain). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kopresipitasi untuk mensintesis nanopartikel Fe3O4 dari bahan baku prekursor FeSO4.7H2O dan FeCl3.6H2O. Karakterisasi hasil sintesis yang dilakukan menggunakan XRD dan SEM untuk mengetahui struktur kristalinitas dan morfologi dari nanopartikel Fe3O4. Berdasarkan hasil analisis XRD ukuran kristalit nanopartikel Fe3O4 yang diperoleh dari persamaan Debye-Scherer sebesar 55,39 nm dengan kristalinitas sebesar 27,10%. Sedangkan hasil analisis SEM menunjukkan bahwa nanopartikel Fe3O4 memiliki morfologi yang kasar dan tidak teratur. Nanopartikel Fe3O4 memiliki permukaan yang berpori-pori karena terdapat celah dan rongga pada partikel-partikelnya.
