Abstract
Abstract. This study analyzed the goals of sustainable development or sustainable development of education, biology education in the 21st century sustainable development / SDGs and the transformation of prospective biology education teachers in supporting SDGs or sustainable development. This research was conducted in June 2021. This research method is a qualitative descriptive study with the aim of analyzing in depth and explaining the initial abilities of prospective biology teachers related to ESD based on answers to questions related to ESD. Questions were distributed to research subjects in June 2021 in the middle of the lecture. The subjects of the research were 30 third year students of the Biology Education Study Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga who were taking the Biology Conservation course. The data in the study were collected using google form as an online questionnaire media consisting of 5 questions that explored the knowledge of prospective teachers about ESD competencies, and also used secondary data obtained from various published articles.
