KETERAMPILAN METAKOGNITIF DAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR: SEBUAH STUDI KORELASI PADA SEKOLAH BERBASIS PONDOK PESANTREN
Abstract
Abstract. The learning process in the 21st century requires students to be active in seeking, finding, and using knowledge to understand a concept with or without the help of teacher. Therefore, it is important to empower students' thinking skills in learning, including metacognitive skills. This study aimed to determine the correlation between metacognitive skills and students' learning motivation. The subjects in this study were students of class X IPA A at SMA Bustanul Mubtadi'in Pamekasan Madura in the second semester of academic year 2021/2022. This research is quantitative research with regression correlation analysis technique using SPSS 25.0. Data collection for metacognitive skills used a rubric that was integrated with an essay test, while learning motivation used a questionnaire. The results of this study indicated that there was a relationship between metacognitive skills and students' learning motivation. The results of the regression analysis showed a large R value of 0.517 which showed a moderate relationship between metacognitive skills and learning motivation. The Problem-based Learning model is able to become a recommended learning model in empowering metacognitive skills with student learning motivation, especially in learning biology.
