Focus and Scope

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi offers original articles on economic education, business education, and entrepreneurship education. The journal is aimed at publishing and disseminating the results of researches and studies on economics education conducted by researchers, teachers, and practitioners . Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi provides informative variety of papers geared toward theory and practice in the following area, including:

  • Issues and ideas, as well as contemporary research findings in the field of economic education, business education, and entrepreneurship education
  • Innovation in the field of pedagogy, curriculum, hardware, teaching materials, and methods & models in economic and business learning
  • Evaluation of Economic teaching methods, learning attitudes and interests, materials, or processes.
  • Reports on events that influence economic education  in all levels of education age (from early childhood to adulthood) and three main lines of education, namely formal, nonformal, and informal.

  • Program design and student outcomes

Peer Review Process

Peer Review Process

The article submitted to Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi will be reviewed by at least two reviewers with the "Double-Blind Review" system (both reviewers and authors’ identities remain anonymous). In there is no consensus among those reviewers, the paper will be sent to other reviewers. The decision made for the article is the result of the Editorial Board’s agreement based on the suggestions proposed by the reviewer(s) and peer-reviewer(s). All papers submitted to the journal will be peer reviewed for at least one round. 

After a manuscript is submitted to the online system, the system immediately notifies the editorial office. After passing an initial quality check by the editorial office, the manuscript will be assigned to one or more reviewers. After receiving reviewers’ comments, the editorial team member makes a decision. Because reviewers sometimes do not agree with each other, the final decision sent to the author may not exactly reflect recommendations by any of the reviewers. The decision after each round of peer review may be one of the following:

  1. Accept without any further changes.
  2. Accept with minor revision. The revised manuscript may or may not be sent to the reviewers for another round of comments.
  3. Decline with resubmission encouraged. Major changes are necessary for resubmission. The revised manuscript will be peer reviewed for another round. Typically, it will be sent to the original reviewers.
  4. Decline without encouraging resubmission. The manuscript is rejected for publication by Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi.

The whole processes is assumed to be completely within 3-12 weeks.

Plagiarism and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be checked using the Turnitin software

 

 

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi is published two issues a year with the first volume is always started in March and the second in October. After finishing the review process, revision, and editing, the accepted paper will be published online soon in "online first"

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Publication Ethic

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi (JPE) commits to the academic community in ensuring ethics in publication and quality of articles in publication. Plagiarism is strictly forbidden and papers found to be plagiarized will be removed or not published in JPE. Thus, all received papers are checked with "Turnitin" for plagiarism before review process. While signing the publication agreement the author(s) have to warrant that the article and associated materials are original and it does not infringe the copyright of anyone. Also the authors have to warrant that there was a full consensus of all the authors and it was neither submitted nor published previously. Our publication ethics is mainly based on the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (Committee on Publication Ethics, 2011). it is expected of authors, reviewers and editors that they follow the best-practice guidelines on ethical behaviour contained therein.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decision

The editor is responsible for deciding which of the papers submitted to the journal will be published. The decision will be based on the paper’s importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the journal's scope. Current legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism should also be considered.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate. 

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted paper will not be used by the editor or the members of the editorial board for their own research purposes without the author's explicit written consent.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

The peer-reviewing process assists the editor and the editorial board in making editorial decisions and may also serve the author in improving the paper. 

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be disclosed to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor. 

Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify cases in which relevant published work referred to in the paper has not been cited in the reference section. They should point out whether observations or arguments derived from other publications are accompanied by the respective source. Reviewers will notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge. 

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors of original research reports should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable. 

Data Access and Retention

Authors could be asked to provide the raw data of their study together with the paper for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if practicable. In any event, authors should ensure accessibility of such data to other competent professionals for at least ten years after publication (preferably via an institutional or subject-based data repository or other data center), provided that the confidentiality of the participants can be protected and legal rights concerning proprietary data do not preclude their release. 

Originality, Plagiarism, and Acknowledgement of Sources

Authors will submit only entirely original works, and will appropriately cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work should also be cited. 

Multiple, Rebundant or Concurrent Publication 

In general, papers describing essentially the same research should not be published in more than one journal. Submitting the same paper to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.

Authorship of the Paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author ensures that all contributing co-authors and no uninvolved persons are included in the author list. The corresponding author will also verify that all co-authors have approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

All authors should include a statement disclosing any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. Fundamental Errors in Published Works When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper in form of an erratum. 

Withdrawl of Manuscripts 

Author is not allowed to withdraw submitted manuscripts, because the withdrawal is waste of valuable resources that editors and referees spent a great deal of time processing submitted manuscript, money and works invested by the publisher. The withdrawal of manuscript after the manuscript is accepted for publication, author will be punished by paying US$1000 per manuscript. Withdrawal of manuscript is only allowed after withdrawal penalty has been fully paid to the Publisher. If author do not agree to pay the penalty, the author and his/her affiliation will be blacklisted for publication in this journal. Even, his/her previously published articles will be removed from our online system.

Screening for Plagiarism

Originality & Plagiarism

In publishing, Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi (JPE) strongly against any case of plagiarism on its own merits. This journal commits to deterring plagiarism, including self-plagiarism. The manuscript that submitted into this journal will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin plagiarism checker.

Before the author submits the manuscript to the journal, the paper needs to  be checked first for using plagiarism checker. 

Plagiarism Includes but is Not Limited to:

  • refer and/or quoting terms, words and/or sentences, data and/or information from a source without citing sources in the record citation and/or without stating the source adequately;
  • refer and/or quoting random terms, words and/or sentences, data and/or information from a source without citing a source in the record citation and/or without stating the source adequately;
  • using a source of ideas, opinions, views, or theory without stating the source adequately;
  • formulating the words and/or sentences themselves from the source of words and/or phrases, ideas, opinions, views, or theory without stating the source adequately;
  • submit a scientific papers produced and/or published by others as a source of scientific work without express adequately.

Prevention

In every article submitted to the Jurnal Pendidikan Bisnis dan Manajemen must be attached to a statement signed by the author that:

  • The article is free of plagiarism;
  • if at a later proved there is plagiarism in the article, the author is willing to accept the sanctions in accordance with the legislation.

Sanctions

  • reprimand;
  • letter of warning;
  • revocation of the article;
  • cancellation of publication.

 

Author Fee

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi will not charge anything to the author for submission fee or publication fee. Once the issue is published, the author will get an issue by email.

Reviewer Guidelines

The Responsibility of the Peer Reviewer

Peer-review is the principal mechanism by which the quality of research is judged. Peer-review is the essential element in promoting quality and excellence in the papers published in our journal. The peer reviewer is responsible for critically reading and evaluating a manuscript in their specialty field, and then providing respectful, constructive, and honest feedback to authors about their submission. It is appropriate for the Peer Reviewer to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the article, ways to improve the strength and quality of the work, and evaluate the relevance and originality of the manuscript. In addition to fairness in judgment and expertise in the field, peer reviewers have important responsibilities toward authors, editors, and readers.

This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. The author continues to be the copyright owner and allows the journal to publish the article with the CC BY-NC-SA license.

Archiving

Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi is committed to the permanent availability and preservation of scholarly research and to ensuring accessibility by converting and upgrading digital file formats to comply with the newest technology standards.

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

In addition, Jurnal Pendidikan Ekonomi also upports self-archiving (Google Drive). The journal permits and encourages authors to make their research visible and accessible to their peers by uploading the final published version of their articles in personal or institutional repositories immediately after publication while providing bibliographic details that credit, if applicable, its publication in the journal.

This journal uses Open Journal Systems 2.4.8.5, which is open source journal management and publishing software developed, supported, and freely distributed by the Public Knowledge Project under the GNU General Public License.
