AUTHOR GUIDELINES

FOR JURNAL SOSIOLOGI PENDIDIKAN HUMANIS (JSPH)

General Writting Instruction

  1. Manuscripts written for JSPH include research outcomes, field research, or literary research and articles reflecting socioculture and education phenomena.
  2. Manuscripts has not been published in other media and does not contain element of plagiarism.
  3. Manuscrips is written in Bahasa Indonesia or in English. Manuscripts is typed using Microsoft Word program on HVS Kuarto paper (A4) around 4000 – 7000 words in Times New Roman size 12 pts and 1.5 spasi.
  4. The completed text must be sent to management Open Journal System (OJS) on http://journal2.um.ac.id/index.php/jsph or can also be attached in an e-mail to jsphum@yahoo.co.id.
  5. Editorial board asks the author to add some of international journals articles published between 2007 – 2017 to keep the publications issued by JSPH are constanly updated or the State of the Art is well maintained.
  6. Manuscript have been passed from the initial review by the administrator of the journal will be sent to the editorial board and will be considered to decide whether will be published or not. Author of article that passed the review process and was selected for publication will receive a receipt of journal.
  7. The author of article that did not pass the review process will receive a notification letter.
  8. Manuscript is written in Bahasa Indonesia or in English. The writing system for research outcome is title, name of the writer, abstract with key words, preface, discussion or analysis, conclusion, and reference.

General Writting Structure

  1. Title. Title of the article cannot exceed 15 words. Title is typed in bold with centered capital letter in 14 pts.
  2. Author. The Name of the author is written without any academic degree, followed by the name of author’s institution, located under the title of the article. In case manuscript written by team, the editor is only in contact with the main author or the first mentioned author. The main author must include his/her correspondence address or e-mail.
  3. Abstract. The abstract and key words must be written in two languages (in Bahasa Indonesia and English). The length of each abstract is around 150 -200 words, while the limit of key words is 3-5 words. The abstract, at the least, must contain the aim, method and result of the research.
  4. Content. Systematics of  research article are: title; the author's name (without academic degree); abstract (maximum 100 words) that contains the objectives, methods, and research result; keywords; Introduction (without title) which contains the background, a little review of the literature, and research purposes; methods; the results; discussion; conclusions and suggestions; references (contain the references of the source). Systematics of the reviewed article are: title; the author's name (without academic degree); abstract (maximum 100 words); keywords; Introduction (without title) which contains background and objectives or scope of the writing; main topics (can be divided into several sub-sections); conclusions; references (contain the references of the source).
  5. References.  References and citations are using the Parenthetical styles or author-date styles (name, year: page).If the references is written as a direct quotation, it would be better if the page of the source book is included. For example: (Davis, 2003:47). We strongly recommended to use a tools (ex: zotero, endnote, mendeley, etc) for making a references. The list of Reference (bibliography) should be sorted alphabetically and chronologically. The example of references style based on the acquired sources is as follow:

  6. All manuscripts are reviewed anonymously by peer review whom selected by the editor based on their field of expertise. Authors of the articles are given the opportunity to make improvements (revision) on the manuscript based on the recommendations / suggestions from peer review or editor. The decision of the manuscript being accepted or rejected will be notified by letter or by e-mail.
  7. The editor has the right to modify and correct the spelling, writing and grammar of the published manuscript.
  8. Checking and editing of the test & trial of the articles will be done by the editor and the author. Articles that have been tested & trialed can be cancelled from publication by the editor if the articles are problematic.
  9. Every single thing related to licensing of the citations, the use of computer software for the creation of the script or others which is related to IPR and conducted by authors of the article, and following the legal consequences that may arise therefore, it is sole responsibility of the author of the article.
  10. Author whose manuscript is published will get 1 (one) copies of publishing proof Unpublished manuscripts will not be returned, except upon the author’s request.

 

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  2. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  3. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  4. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  5. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.
