Hubungan antara Ketidakpuasan Bentuk Tubuh dengan Objektifikasi Diri pada Remaja Pengguna Instagram

Abstract


Ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh adalah penilaian negatif individu terhadap bentuk tubuhnya dikarenakan adanya kesenjangan antara tubuh sebenarnya dan ideal individu. Salah satu alasan terjadinya ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh individu adalah karena objektifikasi diri, yaitu ketika individu melihat dirinya sebagai objek yang diperhatikan. Hipotesis penelitian, yaitu terdapat hubungan antara setiap dimensi objektifikasi diri dengan ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh pada remaja pengguna Instagram. Penelitian ini melibatkan 312 orang remaja pengguna Instagram berusia 18–24 tahun dan mengikuti konten selebriti, olahraga, atau juga model. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah dengan kuesioner daring berisi skala Objectified Body Consciousness (OBCS) untuk mengukur objektifikasi diri dan skala Body Dissatisfaction Scale (BDS) untuk mengukur ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi metode koefisien korelasi Spearman. Hasil uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan positif antara objektifikasi diri dimensi pengawasan tubuh serta dimensi internalisasi pandangan budaya dan rasa malu terhadap tubuh dengan ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh, sedangkan tidak ditemukan hubungan antara objektifikasi diri dimensi keyakinan untuk mengontrol penampilan dengan ketidakpuasan bentuk tubuh. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa semakin individu memperhatikan tubuhnya secara konstan, maka semakin individu tidak puas dengan tubuhnya dan semakin individu menginternalisasi pandangan mengenai standar ideal yang ada dan merasa malu terhadap tubuhnya, maka semakin individu tidak puas dengan tubuhnya.
