OPTIMALISASI PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH KULIT JERUK UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN EKONOMI BERKELANJUTAN DI DESA PONCOKUSUMO
Abstract
Poncokusumo village is one of the best places to produce oranges in Malang, East Java. However, the high production of oranges in this region also leads to more untapped orange peel waste. The objective of this community empowerment is to address this problem by turning orange peel waste into profitable products. The programme aims to improve the knowledge and skills of villagers in processing orange peels into products such as pectin, essential oil, and organic fertiliser through a community empowerment-based approach. In addition, this programme provides knowledge to the community on how to manage waste to preserve the environment. The results of this service are expected to create new sustainable economic opportunities for the people of Poncokusumo Village, while reducing the negative impact of orange peel waste on the environment. In addition, it is expected that processed products from orange peel waste will increase community income and support the village's economic growth in a sustainable manner. Through this programme, the people of Poncokusumo Village are expected to become more independent and innovative by using their local resources.
