Female Principals’ Learning Leadership in Schools Moving Towards Effective schools

Abstract


Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the instructional leadership of female school principal at SDN 5 Kota Barat. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study research design. The main informant in the study is the school principal, while supporting informants include teachers, students, and parents. Data collection techniques involve interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data analysis utilizes content analysis with the stages of data reduction, data display, and data verification. Data validity is ensured through credibility and confirmability checks. The results of this study showed that: (1) The role of the school principal as a learning agent in inspiring teachers to realize effective teaching and learning is accomplished through the establishment of working teams, work program socialization, workshops, implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Project, introduction of the Merdeka Mengajar platform, formation of learning communities, teacher mediators and motivators, and teacher competence enhancement training; (2) The efforts of the school principal in facilitating and guiding teachers to realize an effective school culture are carried out through conducting Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), monitoring instructional materials, providing adequate learning facilities, utilizing the surrounding school environment for the learning process, and providing supervision and mentoring; (3) The efforts of the principal to motivate the school community in realizing an effective school culture begin with instilling a habit of discipline and mutual respect, fostering conscious health and cleanliness awareness, promoting the understanding of collective collaboration, mutual assistance, and support, cultivating communal prayers and remembrance, as well as engaging in other religious activities that support the character development of the school community. Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that the leadership of female principals in SDN No. 5 Kota Barat "has implemented instructional leadership and actively contributed to creating a high-quality educational environment.
