Conceptual Problem Solving (CPS) dalam Latihan Memecahkan Masalah untuk Meningkatkan Penguasaan Konsep Mahasiswa pada Topik Termodinamika

Abstract


Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penguasaan konsep mahasiswa pada materi termodinamika setelah berlatih memecahkan masalah menggunakan pendekatan CPS. Penggunaan pendekatan CPS dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya temuan hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait kebiasaan mahasiswa menggunakan strategi chug and plug dalam menyelesaikan masalah. Metode yang digunakan adalah mixed method dengan desain embedded experimental. Penelitian ini melibatkan 22 mahasiswa tahun kedua Universitas Nusa Cendana di Kupang. Instrumen pretest dan posttest berupa 12 soal penguasaan konsep berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan reliabilitas 0,524. Hasil uji paired sample t-test diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000. Nilai effect size sebesar 1,69 dan berada pada kategori kuat menunjukkan bahwa berlatih memecahkan masalah menggunakan pendekatan CPS berpengaruh kuat terhadap peningkatan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa.
