Peer Review Process

PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is published by Universitas Negeri Malang. All research articles published in the journal will undergo a complete peer review with the characteristics below:

• All articles are reviewed by at least two suitably qualified experts.
• All publication decisions are made by the journals’ Editors-in-Chief on the basis of the reviews provided
• Members of the international Editorial Boards lend insight, advice, and guidance to the Editors-in-Chief generally and to assist decision making on specific submissions
• Managing Editors and Editorial Assistants provide the administrative support that allows PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat to maintain the integrity of double-blind peer review while delivering rapid turnaround and maximum efficiency to authors, reviewers, and editors alike.
• PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat additionally benefits through the manuscript referral process from the high-quality peer review conducted by established journals.
• the period of peer review, editing, copyediting, and proofreading process usually takes 1-2 months.

Peer reviews of referenced papers

PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat editorial board will immediately decide whether to accept, reject or request revisions of referenced papers based on editorial reviews and insights. Additionally, Editors will have the option to search for additional reviews when needed. Authors will be provided with suggestions by the editor when further review and improvement is needed.

Screening Plagiarism

The Plagiarism Screening Process for PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat was carried out twice using the Turnitin application with the following conditions:

1. Manuscripts submitted first will be screened for plagiarism prior to the initial review process and peer assessment with a maximum word score of 25%.
2. The manuscript will be screened again, the manuscript report is declared ACCEPTED and has gone through the layout edit process with a maximum word information score of 25%.

Publication Ethics

PROMOTIF: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat is a peer reviewed journal published biannually by Faculty of Sports Science, Universitas Negeri Malang. The journal follows the guidelines set out by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in all aspects of publication ethics. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the publisher, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewer, and the author.

Publisher’s Responsibilities

• Publisher publishes manuscripts that have been through the process of editing, reviewing, and lying out according to the rules of scientific journal publication.
• Publisher guarantees the academic freedom for the Editors and Reviewers in carrying out their duties respectively.
• Publisher maintains the privacy, intellectual treasure, copyright, and editorial freedom.

• Editors decide articles that are worth publishing and refer to the requirements with regard to defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, and plagiarism.
• Editors emphasize the equality of decision making in the process of reviewing and accepting the manuscripts without any discrimination of sex, religion, ethnicity, citizenship, or political ideology.
• Editors will not disclose any information about the manuscripts except the author's permission.
• Unpublished manuscripts will not be used by editors for their own interests and will be returned directly to their authors.

• Reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions regarding the submitted manuscripts.
• Reviewers review the manuscripts objectively and based on the clear arguments.
• Reviewers are responsible for the quotations, references, duplications and plagiarism of the reviewed manuscripts.
• Reviewers maintain the confidentiality of information and do not use the information for personal interests.

• Authors must avoid duplicity and plagiarism in presenting the result of their researches.
• Authors must confirm manuscripts that have been submitted to the journal.
• Authors must write clearly references of their manuscripts.
• Authors must consider the manuscripts according to the rules of scientific journal publication.
• Authors must agree with some editing in the review process and layout without changing substantive contents.
