Author Guidelines

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  1. Articles submitted for Jurnal Sejarah, Budaya dan Pengajarannya (JSB) have not been published elsewhere and are not under review for possible publication elsewhere.
  2. As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  3. Non-Indonesian words should be italicized if your article is in Indonesian. If your article is in English, non-English words should be italicized.
  4. Should be between 4000 - 8000 words, inclusive of tables, references, and figure captions.
  5. The paper complies with the focus and scope of the journal
  6. Manuscripts should be prepared in journal style and using our template.
  7. After you submit your article, we will check the article’s plagiarism rate using Turnitin software. If your article has more than a 20% plagiarism rate, we will reject your article.
  8. We accept articles in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
  9. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  10. We strongly recommended the author use a reference management system (i.e., Mendeley, Zotero)

GUIDELINES FOR ARTICLE 

1. Title
 • Title is written in Indonesian and English with a maximum of 15 words.
 • The title must be concise, specific, informative, and complete.

2. Author name, institution, and email
Write Author(s) names without titles and professional positions such as Prof, Dr, Production Manager, etc. Do not abbreviate your last/family name. Always give your First and Last names (Full Names). Write a clear affiliation of all Authors. Affiliation includes the name of the university, address, country, and email address.

3. Abstract and keywords
 • Abstract consists of research objectives, research methods, and research results.
 • The number of words allowed is 100-150 words and written in English and Indonesian
 • Keywords consist of three to five words

4. Introduction
In the introduction, at least include:
 • Research background
 • Previous research
 • Novelty and research gap
 • Research objectives and questions
 • Limitation

5. Methods (For Research article)
 • The method should be used for the research briefly, clearly, and concisely.
 • If you use the historical method as your research method, briefly mention your primary and secondary sources.

6. Result and Discussion
 • It contains the results of the research and the discussions.
 • Digitized photographs and maps must be in high resolution (in PNG or JPEG files) and please state the sources of the illustrations.

7. Conclusion
The conclusion does not contain a summary of the introduction to the discussion and is also not a repetition of the abstract. Instead, it explains whether your research answers the research questions you posed in the introduction. Keep in mind the conclusion should consist of 300 to 500 words.

8. Reference
 • Using APA 7th Edition for reference
 • Minimum 15 references. If the author uses the historical method, primary sources related to the research must also be provided.
 • 80% should be primary sources

GUIDELINES FOR THE BOOK REVIEW

Title: titles must present the book author, publication year, book title, publisher’s city, publisher’s name, number of pages, and ISSN/ISBN. Price

The writer’s identity: The writer’s name, email, address, and corresponding email

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
