Penciptaan terakota topiary garden figuratif untuk estetik eksterior berbasis eco-friendly artistik

Abstract


This creative research explores the development of terracotta topiary garden products, combining ornamental plants with figurative terracotta containers. The initiative responds to the growing lifestyle trend of reconnecting with nature while maintaining aesthetic appeal. Despite the popularity of ornamental plant cultivation in residential areas, the integration of artistic terracotta containers remains underutilized in the creative craft industry. This study aims to investigate the relationship between product design and its impact on everyday life. The research employs a creative method consisting of six stages: (1) concept development of terracotta topiary garden design, (2) visual exploration through design sketches, (3) creation of figurative terracotta vases, (4) planting and shaping of ornamental plants within the containers, and (5) scientific analysis of the final product. The results demonstrate that terracotta topiary gardens can function as both aesthetic and ecological objects, offering innovative potential for sustainable, art-based lifestyle products within the contemporary creative industry.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menciptakan produk seni terakota topiary garden sebagai kombinasi artistik antara tanaman hias dan wadah tanam figuratif dari terakota. Inisiatif ini merespons meningkatnya minat masyarakat terhadap gaya hidup ramah lingkungan yang tetap estetis. Produk yang dihasilkan menawarkan potensi dalam pengembangan industri kreatif, khususnya kriya terakota, yang belum banyak mengeksplorasi fungsi ganda sebagai karya seni dan media tanam. Metode yang digunakan meliputi: (1) perumusan konsep desain, (2) eksplorasi visual dan desain bentuk, (3) pembentukan vas terakota figuratif, (4) penanaman dan pembentukan tanaman hias pada wadah terakota, serta (5) analisis ilmiah terhadap hasil akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terakota topiary garden mampu menjadi produk fungsional dan artistik yang memperkuat koneksi antara seni, alam, dan kebutuhan gaya hidup masyarakat urban masa kini, sekaligus membuka peluang baru dalam pengembangan produk kriya kontemporer yang inovatif dan ramah lingkungan.
