FEODALISME DALAM NOVEL A GAME OF THRONES KARYA GEORGE R. R. MARTIN DAN PEMANFAATAN NOVEL PADA PEMBELAJARAN SEJARAH DI SMA
Abstract
Abstract: This study is qualitative research aimed at identifying the elements of feudalism present in the novel A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and determining whether similar novels can be used for historical learning. The data in this study consists of texts, specifically quotes from the dialogues and narratives in the novel. The data collection technique is divided into three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that there are elements of feudalism showing that social class can influence the characters' traits. Additionally, similar fantasy novels that contain historical elements cannot be used as historical sources, but they can serve as motivation for students to become more interested in history.
Abstrak: Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui unsur-unsur feodalisme yang ada di Novel A Game of Thrones karya George R.R Martin dan mengetahui apakah novel sejenis dapat dijadikan pembelajaran sejarah atau tidak. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa tulisan, yaitu kutipan-kutipan yang berasal dari dialog dan narasi pada novel. Teknik pengumpulan data dibagi menjadi 3 tahap, yakni reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat unsur-unsur feodalisme yang menunjukan bahwa kelas sosial dapat mempengaruhi sifat karakter. Selain itu, novel fantasi sejenis yang memiliki unsur sejarah tidak dapat dijadikan sebagai sumber sejarah, namun dapat dijadikan sebagai motivasi siswa agar lebih tertarik dengan sejarah.
