Analisis Gaya Belajar Mahasiswa Pendidikan Seni Pertunjukan Berdasarkan Modalitas Preferensi Sensori
Abstract
Abstract: One of the studies to understand the learner's characteristics is to analyze learning styles based on VAK sensory preferences (visual, auditory, kinesthetic). Analysis of these learning styles needs to map for the smooth running of further learning. This study aimed to determine the learning style preferences of students majoring in performing art education. The method was a learning style survey conducted on 120 performing arts education students in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year. The instrument used an adapted VAK questionnaire. The survey results show that most students have a dominant visual preference, followed by kinesthetic and auditory. The highest accumulated preference obtained is the single/unimodal preference type. The existence of a robust visual learning style preference result imperatively requires teachers to provide a way of learning that emphasizes visual content. The study results on the learner's characteristics in this context encourage to provide learning facilities in the form of methods and media, which emphasizes the perception of the majority of visual learners
